The UK team encourages the use of our study books in Europe, and one aspect of that is translating studies into different languages, so that the Bible is more accessible to women in eastern Europe.
KYB studies are now available in over 11 European countries, with more titles in the process of translation. In countries where there is a great need for Bible study materials in their own language, KYB books are very well received and used by many women.
We have also been invited to go and introduce these KYB studies, to hold workshops and train potential leaders. Over the years, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, The Netherlands & Armenia have been visited.
Currently, we are planning a trip to Ireland to encourage the groups there.
The long process of producing a new translation begins when a country asks for materials, and permission to translate is given by the International Board, who owns the rights.
Then the stages of translating, checking, vetting, piloting for errors and flow of language, before the final stage of printing can take place. Copies are kept here in the UK and in the IB library of studies.
